The grass roots movement known as the "Tea Party Movement," took America by storm and has re-energized supporters of small limited government into taking America back.
Unfortunately the Tea Party itself is slowly being hijacked by the GOP!
The popular movement among Constitutional Conservatives which has created a revival of sorts in the re-education of Americans concerning the constitution, fiscal responsibility and principled leadership, is slowly being molded into a GOP pawn. Whether it be Sarah Palin who appeared at a "Tea Party Convention," a few weeks ago or Michael Steel (RNC Chair) the Tea Party supporters are being stroked like a cat on warm milk. The obviousness of this take over has been noted by many supporters of the grass roots movement and the fact that the GOP has yet to publicly admit their failures or anything that would even remotely suggest that they are a different party, is of great concern to those who want "real change," in Washington.
I've said it many times and I will say it again, the Tea Party movement is not about the Republicans or the Democrats it is about the American people taking their country back. Until the average citizen is willing to drop partisan loyalty and admit that our two party system is really a one party system mired in corruption and unconstitutional practices, America cannot even begin the process of Revival.
What can be done?
The attempt to turn populist tea party discontent into a Republican landslide in 2010 can be thwarted by the emergence of a genuine charismatic tea party spokesman. Who will be that spokesman? Although, no one has actually stepped up to the table, it is time the movement had a face to go with it's voice. This individual cannot be a Democrat or a Republican and they must have solutions to the problems facing this country, it is easy to give a speech telling like minded people what the problems are, now is the time for solutions. Until this person comes along, the Tea Party movement will gradually go from being a grass roots movement to one that looks a lot like GOP ASTROTURF!
