The Servant Would Overthrow The Master

Writing in The Federalist #78, Alexander Hamilton said:

"There is no position which depends on clearer principles, than that every act of a delegated authority, contrary to the tenor of the commission under which it is exercised, is void. No legislative act, therefore, contrary to the Constitution, can be valid. To deny this, would be to affirm, that the deputy is greater than his principal; that the servant is above his master; that the representatives of the people are superior to the people themselves; that men acting by virtue of powers, may do not only what their powers do not authorize, but what they forbid."

Presently, our government has become the very entity that Hamilton warned us about. It is time for the master, the people, to discipline the servant.........the government! In order for us to restore America to it's former self, we must become a more educated public, and we must focus on the actions of our government and hold our elected officials accountable for their actions.

We must first educate ourselves get a firm grasp on our ideas. Once we have accomplished this, it is important that we strive to educate our neighbors, friends and family members. Whether, it be through social networking, email, newsletter, pamphlets, conversations, fliers or protests the truth needs to be heard. We have become a nation of people whose priorities consist of Hollywood gossip, professional sports and leisure . While we have been busy watching the left hand, the right hand of government has slowly made the Constitution disappear.

In order to prevent this hijacking of the Constitution, it is important that we understand the issues, contact our representatives and make our collective voices heard. The United States of America is a Democratic Republic, our leaders are granted power, from "we the people." It is necessary that we remind the out of control egomaniacs in Washington D.C., that their power does not come without accountability.

Let us use the democratic process, to restore America and to "Change" the way our leaders view those who grant them their power. I urge everyone to become a part of the American process, become active in government, less we allow the servant to overthrow the master!
