A Nation of Sheep, Collectivism in America!

"Collectivism is the subjugation of the individual to a group -- whether to a race, class or state does not matter. Collectivism holds that man must be chained to collective action and collective thought for the sake of what is called 'the common good'." Ayn Rand

On a daily basis we are being reminded about some new "crisis,"that needs to be addressed. Whether it be global warming, health care, a corporate bailout or a medical pandemic the government is quick to let us know that action is required and that it is required immediately. Forget the hassle of trying to figure it out for yourself, just sit back and let the government take care of the problem for us. The collectivist trap is being set!

Enter the unknowing sheep, the American citizen(s).

Unlike the unknowing mouse about to feast on a hardy find, the American people are experiencing a sense of unease, something isn't quite right. Whether it be the sinking feeling that self reliance and independence is faining or the inability to determine ones own destiny without the pending fear of intervention from an outside entity ie(government). Something is changing, something is amiss in America!

The American people have long "cut their teeth," on the concept of individual liberty and freedom. The essential belief that every man is a sovereign entity, that they are entitled to do what they wish with their life, is at the very core of what it means to be an American. It is this sanctity of individuality, the right to pursue ones own goals, the right to enjoy the fruits of your labor and to pursue that which makes you happy that identifies America at it's core. With this as the pillar of our society we affirm that the only obligation that we have to one another is to ensure that others have the same freedom that we so cherish. This being the case, collectivism is not an easy sell to the American people, that is if we assume the American people even know what collectivism is and how it is they are being manipulated into it's system.

There is a strong movement in this country to fundamentally change the mindset of the American populace. This movement is being financed and implemented by some of the most "progressive," of organizations, and led by some of the most progressive ideologues in the world. Unless America is awakened from it's slumber we will cease to be a nation of individual liberty and become a nation trapped in the grip of collectivism.

What is the goal of collectivism? To impose social values and systems upon individuals, thus erasing their claim to inalienable rights. Why the attempt to remove inalienable rights?

Because, the inalienable rights of the individual interferes with a move toward statism, therefore in order for statism to take place, individual liberty must first be removed. In order for the state to become supreme it is first necessary for the inalienable rights of the individual to be replaced by "self-sacrifice." Once the citizens of a country are convinced that they must sacrifice some of their rights in order to improve the condition or status of others these rights then become "needs." For example, if progressives can convince the population that Health Care is a right, we must then consider the property rights of those who will be taxed to help provide this "right" to others. By taking away the property ie (taxes) of one group you are then violating their inalienable right to what is rightfully theirs, ie their property and their income. When you violate the rights of one group to provide a "right" for another group you are essentially re-defining the term to the point that a right now becomes a "need." This methodical approach is the reason that so many are seldom aware of the rapid and swift approach of totalitarianism.

When this happens the very definition of the word, right, is changed from something that is part of our humanity to something that becomes a need or a good. Since government produces nothing and only consumes, it becomes necessary for the government to further violate the rights of one group to provide for "rights" of another. In this system, the power of society becomes unlimited, meaning the authorities that control society are unlimited in their scope of power. Which in turn leads to totalitarianism.

This mindset leads to a rather obvious contradiction: There can be no such thing as a "right" to violate the rights of others. It is very important to understand that the needs of one person cannot infringe upon the rights of another person, which is precisely what collectivism requires. If the attack on individual liberty is not enough, one must also consider the political manifestation of individual freedom, Capitalism, and how it too is being attacked.

The modern progressives spew a message that suggests capitalism to be oppressive and unfair, however historical evidence reputes such nonsense. Capitalism has been responsible for incredible waves of prosperity, ingenuity and an overall increase in the standard of living for all Americans, even the most poor among us. The progressives need capitalism to be portrayed as evil, abusive and unfair, it is the only way that they can further their agenda to redistribute wealth.

Another problem with the collective model is that it re-defines the moral purpose of government. According to the collectivist, the purpose of government is to "provide for the public." This being their view, in spite of the FACT, that the model idea in which our U.S. government was formed was so that the government would PROTECT the rights of it's citizens.

With all consideration, the fundamental flaw with collectivism is that government does not produce anything, it therefore must take from one in order to give to another. Therefore, failing to realize that the ultimate purpose of government is to protect the rights of it's citizens and to intervene only when the actions of one person or group infringes upon the rights of another. It is here that the collectivist cannot be satisfied, they believe the role of government is to "provide" these so called "rights," to it's citizens. In most cases these "rights," are actually goods or commodities, which are deemed a right because the government declared them so. It is also important to realize that once these "rights" are deemed so and granted by the government, the government then becomes the source of all liberty. Which is the foundation of totalitarianism!

Many will argue that a refusal to follow the collectivist agenda is an act of un-selfishness, they will paint those that are opposed as without compassion, un-caring and non-charitable. But, consider this: Why is there no compassion and charity to the man whom the rights are being taken from, whose property is being taken against his will and given to another, where is the compassion for this man?

America is at a crossroads, perhaps the most important time in our history, the citizens of this country can no longer afford to act as sheep following our would be "shepards" down a path of destruction. We must wake up, realize what is happening and call others to action, less we remain dumb before our shearers!

  1. what you are discribing is collectivism, which in my view is what is termed new world order. What it is so scarry is that Bush I, used it many times in speaches and Obama is using it too. It is an agenda forwarded by the contribution of the very rich of both political parties to strip the middle class american wealth for control.
